Kabir always manages to make my special days even more special!
He sat for the first time, alst month on my birthday. Of course it took him that entire month to actually manage to get his entire bum on floor and both legs straight in front. But thats the day he did it for the first time and it was best gift ever.
Yesterday was Mother's Day. Cubby is ofcos too small to bother about it. Yet, he managed to give me a gift again! He stood up on his own first time yesterday! As I saw his head above the our bed railing, holding on tight to the bars, I screamed in excitement calling M with our camera to capture this moment.
Even Kabir realised that he had done something new and was really happy and excited about it! He stood there a couple of minutes, gloating in the attention, turning away his face at the last minute while taking photos and generally being playful.
After this he wanted to sit down. But of course, you learn one thing at a time. So, he is yet to figure out, how does he sit, once up? hehe! He got all confused and started crying till M came and rescued him and put him back on the floor.
Not that this would be the last time we are doing this. Withing a few minutes we head the same crying sound... this time near the chair where laat-sahab was stuck again.
Am sure its a matter of few days till he figures out how to do both comfortably. Till then, mommy-daddy have to more careful about at what height to keep things. Laptops and phones can't be left on the sofa to be easily pulled down and hence broken. The second level of corner-piece shwoing our excellent artistic taste(??) needs to be emptied too.
I am sure Kabir in his mind is thinking and laughing saying "He He He! Kab tak bachke rahoge?!"
Till then we are just trying to be keep him as safe as we can!
Am so so proud of you sweetheart! Keeping standing-up to what you believe in eventually, literally and figuratively!
Even if it means to make people laugh! :D

What a wonderful gift to get. I remember those moments when both mine stood and sat for the first time--I really cherish those memories.
