its a monkey... its an alien... no its Bumpy!!

it was time for the monthly check up. thankfully the dad-to-be was also there this time! i was hoping that she would do a scan so that mayunk can see Bumpy too! :)

and she did too! i asked Doc if mayunk cud watch, and she said ofcos yes! as the screen lit up slowly Bumpy started taking shape. ofcos without doctor's guiding stick we couldnt really make out much! :)

she started pointing at different parts. The head and the eyeballs followed by its Spinal Cord! it was eerie to see an almost transparent Bumpy with its heartbeat showing and even some gas! ;)

Bumpy was quite shaant for sometime and suddenly we started seeing movements! kicking its legs and moving its hands above its head! (i wish i knew the gender so that i stopped calling poor Bumpy "it"!)

i am still not feeling any movements! the doc said i should latest in next coupla weeks!

my weight shot up far too much even for my chilled out doc's liking! :( guess i went overboard on eating out and eating out with cheesy stuff thinking ab toh badhna hai weight toh dil khol ke khaao! BIG mistake!

am sure to be more sensible now! less of fatty stuff and rice which i have been gorging on last month to satisfy my hunger pangs!

Bumpy you getting bigger by the day i guess! Your dad was amazed how in the world a human being can be comfy in such a small space??!!

But that how nature has intended it to be! Hope you enjoying your stay! yesterdays scan makes me want to see you and hold you so much more!

i have been imagining if you are a girl or a boy, what would you look like, would you recognise us once you are out?! hehe!

stay safe and see you soon!! :)

we love you some more each day! BIG Hugs!

The 3rd of March will be the day I remember as birth of Bumpy. For the first time it took shape that day, it moved, it breathed and it struggled to find a comfortable nook inside it's mommy. I so wanted to hold it and comfort it right then!! And yes, I so wanted to call it a 'he' or a 'she'.

Was happy to hear the doc say progress is textbook so far. May Jantu jalaltu and all assorted nazar-prevention charms protect you, my Bumpy. See you soon!

As I read this again, I realized how magical the feeling of seeing your first ultra-sound was. The months leading up to the birth, like waiting for an over-hyped movie release. When you can't wait for the precious little bundle to make the jump from that tummy to your arms.

And then I contrast that with the current times, with the "family" all there... watching and managing as they grow up. More precocious than precious, now.

That was one helluva unique feeling, and something that's lost to us forever. Glad you captured it so well in these blog pages!
